R-Truth Stuns WWE Universe: The Untold Story Behind His Comeback
5 months ago | 5 Views
Fans were taken aback when R-Truth assaulted John Cena at the conclusion of WWE Money in the Bank 2025's main event. Only a week prior, R-Truth made a statement that led many to believe he was through with the WWE. However, WWE informed Fightful later that his contract had only recently expired and was not yet in effect.
Behind the scenes, sources close to R-Truth (whose real name is Ron Killings) revealed that he had already inked a new contract with WWE. His son, Christopher Killings, even shared what appeared to be confirmation on social media.
Several wrestling promoters attempted to sign Truth after the news of his departure was public, assuming he was a free agent. Even some WWE wrestlers believed it to be true. They bid him farewell and were really sad. “There were a lot of tears. Killings was shocked and kind of disgusted,” one man said. "We all were."
According to those familiar with the circumstances, Truth was released by WWE in a manner that was callous and unwelcoming. He received the information from a lower-level employee, not from a member of the management.
Truth remained silent initially when WWE attempted to contact him once more. After that, Nick Khan, the then-CEO, intervened himself. The two parties subsequently reached a new agreement. According to sources, they "met halfway" in order to make it happen.
"Ronnie wouldn't lie to us," said a seasoned wrestler who has known Truth for a long time. He would only advise us to remain silent if it were fake. He wouldn't do any of this. Furthermore, Paul (Triple H) is aware that it is unethical to deceive the locker room in such a way.
Triple H pretended as though the entire incident was a component of the plot during the post-show press conference. However, not everyone believed him. In response to what Triple H said, some wrestlers disagreed, and Truth's son even used a "cap" emoji, which signifies "lie." “See? You can’t control what everyone says,” one veteran remarked.
"I don't think this was some big plan," a different wrestler said, being more truthful. And I'm aware that Hunter dislikes it when fans seize control of the narrative.
"It felt like we fired Santa Claus," one of Truth's WWE buddies said in jest but with a hint of melancholy.
Fortunately, things have gotten better. Truth's return has brought about a cheerful and upbeat backstage atmosphere.
The new agreement is said to have been reached in the 72 hours preceding the performance.
