Pat Cummins Tipped for Krrish 4 After Superhuman Catch

One of the best bowlers in the world across formats, a captain who has made a habit of winning everywhere he goes, and a capable batter as well down the order — there isn’t much that Pat Cummins can’t do. When you sprinkle in the kind of athleticism and fielding he showed off at the St George’s Stadium in Grenada on day two of Australia’s second Test match vs West Indies, it’s hard to come up with a better all-round cricketer.
Coming on as first-change bowler and delivering his very first spell of the match, Cummins steamed in to bowl just his second delivery of the innings. On strike was the number three batter Keacy Carty, whose inside edge jammed into his pad and looped in the air towards short leg. Most fast bowlers, after falling off towards the off-stump, would bail out and give out on that catch pretty early — but not Cummins.
The Aussie skipper got the attention of the Indian cricket fans as he got shoutouts to get cast in Bollywood movies after his heroic catch went viral.
In a rare instance, Cummins understood the trajectory of the ball and pursued it relentlessly before launching into a complete forward dive with one arm out. As Cummins miraculously stretched far enough to reach the ball only a few centimeters above the ground, it was perfectly timed. Incredibly, the Australian captain clung on, despite already celebrating a superb catch and sliding.
The Windies retaliate as Australia barely leads.
Keacy's reaction, which was a mixture of surprise and amusement, as if he were saying to himself, "Of course he did," is evidence of how ludicrous this catch was, especially coming from a 6'4" fast bowler. The Australian squad was unfazed, gathering around their captain to commemorate one of the finest catches in recent history.
After Cummins' dismissal of Keacy, the Windies were at 40/2. Although a few relationships developed, none of the Windies players managed to score above half-century before they were bowled out for 253, save for Brandon Campbell, who scored 75. They were 33 runs behind Australia's first innings total.
However, the Windies had some late happiness in Grenada late in the day when Jayden Seales' brief opening burst resulted in two quick wickets, taking out Sam Konstas and Usman Khawaja. On Day 2, Australia was 12/2 at the stumps.
