Pat Cummins Fires Sly Sledge at England After Australia Denied Lord’s Training for Indian Team

On that particular day, Pat Cummins did not hold back against England. Just a few days prior to the start of the World Test Championship final against South Africa, the Lord's authorities allowed the Indian team to practice at the site while denying the Australians. This caused chaos in Australia.

The Lord's ground was not available for a training session, which dealt a setback to Australia's preparation for the one-off match on Saturday. As a result, they had to travel three hours to locate a decent training location in London. In order to make room for the visiting Indian team, who is scheduled to play a five-match Test series against England beginning on June 20, Australia was refused permission to train at the stadium, according to a report on Code Sports. However, Australians were permitted to practice on Sundays.

"I have no doubt that this time will be far more courteous."

But Cummins was not enraged by the event and instead spoke to the media from the stadium Sunday night. When reminded of the notorious episode at the Lord's during the 2023 Ashes, in which one of the MCC members had misbehaved with Aussie batter Usman Khawaja after the controversial dismissal of Jonny Bairstow, he actually made a fairly harsh jab at England.

On Network 10's The Project, he stated, "I think this is the best version of the stadium this morning. There's no one around, which is great." I'm certain that this time, things will be far more courteous. The Ashes series got rather heated at times, but I believe that many of them will have learned their lesson and will conduct themselves with utmost courtesy.

Verbal maltreatment of the Australian team resulted in the expulsion of the MCC member and the suspension of two other executive members.

With Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood, and Nathan Lyon as his supporting players, Cummins will be spearheading the Australian bowling assault. Scott Boland will be left out now that Hazlewood is back. Meanwhile, there are indications that the Australia selectors are considering moving Marnus Labuschagne to open the batting with Khawaja, suggesting that Sam Konstas will not be included in the XI.
