PBKS’s Arshdeep Singh Urges Fans to Rally for Team Despite Sparse Backing from Punjab Ahead of RCB Clash

After eleven long years of waiting for the perfect team, coach, and captain to make them genuine contenders once again, the Punjab Kings have finally reached the IPL playoffs for the first time since the 2014 competition. Additionally, as they get ready to play Royal Challengers Bengaluru at the New PCA Stadium in Mullanpur, New Chandigarh, Punjab may have a home game to welcome them to the IPL 2025 playoffs.

The players from Punjab are trying to use that home advantage as a weapon to shift the tide in their favor against the RCB, a squad that is very well-liked. As the team aims for only its second IPL final appearance, Arshdeep Singh appealed to fans on social media to come out in force to support them.

"Thank you for supporting us from afar," Arshdeep replied to a follower on Snapchat who claimed to be rooting for Punjab. There are many people who support different teams and don't support Punjab, but you are still rooting for Punjab even though you are not Punjabi. I want to encourage them to attend in large numbers to cheer on their state, their team, and our victory.

RCB with 7 out of 7 away wins so far…

Because of their lack of success and inability to retain their finest players over the years, Punjab has never been the kind of team to draw a lot of fans. Nonetheless, the team's atmosphere has changed due to the leadership of a superstar in Shreyas Iyer and the presence of Arshdeep, one of India's truly elite fast bowlers, who is currently in his seventh year with PBKS.

Due to the presence of international superstars like Virat Kohli and an identity established by star players like Chris Gayle and AB de Villiers, RCB, on the other hand, enjoys a huge fan base all throughout the nation. At the Mullanpur stadium, there is even a possibility that there will be more RCB supporters than PBKS fans. But the Punjab administration's efforts to capitalize on a home-field advantage have included Arshdeep's request.

With a lot at stake in this qualifier one match in terms of making it to the final, both clubs are vying for their first IPL championship. This would be PBKS's first since 2014 and RCB's first since 2016. It remains to be seen if Arshdeep's plea for supporters to show out in Mullanpur will be enough to disrupt the rhythm of an RCB team that has a historically flawless record in road matches.
