Ever since his outstanding Test debut century, which led former India head coach Ravi Shastri to compare him to Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag, and Brian Lara, Prithvi Shaw's career has seen a steep decline. In spite of his setbacks due to fitness issues and off-field scandals, he still made an attempt to make a comeback. His most recent setback occurred in November of last year, when he was not bought at the IPL mega-auction after being left out of the Mumbai Ranji Trophy team.

In the ongoing Mumbai T20 League, however, Shaw gave the first signs of trying to regain his form on Monday when he destroyed 75 runs off only 34 balls, helping the North Mumbai Panthers defeat Suryakumar Yadav's Triumph Knights Mumbai North East. This was his first score of 50 in the competition, following innings of 5, 5, 33, and 19.

Shaw also put up a 62-run partnership for the second wicket with Arjun Jaiswal (nine off twelve) before Harshal Jadhav (46 off 30) backed him in a 30-run partnership for the following wicket on his way to his 12 fours and three sixes knock.

As a result of Shaw's knock, his squad was able to establish a challenging score of 208 runs.

In response, the Triumph Knights were dismissed for 169 runs.

The Eagle Thane Strikers defeated ARCS Andheri in another match at Wankhede Stadium, and the SOBO Mumbai Falcons defeated Aakash Tigers MWS.

High-octane action concluded the league stage of the T20 Mumbai League 2025, setting the stage for the highly awaited semifinals on June 10 at Wankhede Stadium. The top four teams, the Bandra Blasters, the Eagle Thane Strikers, the SoBo Mumbai Falcons, and the Mumbai South Central Maratha Royals, will compete in the semifinals. The semifinals will take place on June 10 at the Wankhede Stadium, with the championship game following on June 12 at the same location.
