Since the Tokyo Olympics gold medalist will be competing in the inaugural edition of the NC Classic on July 5, all eyes will be on Neeraj Chopra. The 27-year-old has also just recently reclaimed the globe. First place in the World Rankings, and he will be trying to make an impression in front of his hometown fans.

Neeraj was asked an intriguing question during a recent interview with Star Sports' Robin Uthappa, and his response was hardly unexpected.

In order to make the perfect javelin throw attempt, the former cricketer requested that he name a cricketer whose special ability he would want to emulate. Immediately after choosing Sachin Tendulkar, Neeraj gave a rationale for his choice.

"Sachin Tendulkar, who set so many records for us and represented our nation so well for so many years. I would want that superpower and try to do the same since he was able to overcome challenges from so many outstanding bowlers and yet continue to play at a high level. With a calm attitude, I would be able to deal with any obstacles that may arise. "I wish I improved more, but I do try," he remarked.

Additionally, he disclosed that Brett Lee formerly threw javelins. "I have heard that Brett Lee used to throw the javelin," he stated. He was a skilled javelin thrower, in my opinion, especially during his prime. I'd also like to try javelin with Jasprit Bumrah, and I'm hoping he can teach me some bowling techniques. Throwing a javelin is very different from bowling, even though both are throws. From Bumrah, I want to learn.

This season, Neeraj has been performing well, and on one occasion, he surpassed the 90-meter barrier. With an opening throw of 88.16 meters, he also recently won the Paris Diamond League. At the Ostrava Golden Spike competition, he earned his third victory of the year with a throw of 88.16 meters.
