Manika Batra's participation in the WTT Contender Buenos Aires 2025 tournament is uncertain because she is now stuck at the Mumbai airport after her flight to Doha was canceled. The 2020 Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna award recipient tweeted from X (formerly Twitter) that she is looking for answers since the Qatar Airways personnel are not helping her at all.

Manika Batra emphasized the severity of her experience by stating that she had to fly from Doha to Argentina. Ram Mohan Naidu Kinjarapu, the Union Minister for Civil Aviation, and Mansukh Mandaviya, the Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports, have now sought assistance from the Prime Minister's Office.

"URGENT - I NEED HELP RIGHT NOW. My trip QR 557 from Mumbai to Doha, which was scheduled for 04:10 IST, has just been canceled. I'm scheduled to represent India in an international competition that begins tomorrow in Argentina, where I flew from Doha, she posted on X.

Additionally, she emphasized that her only means of getting to the location on time was via a flight to Doha, followed by Argentina. Additionally, despite knowing the circumstances, she claimed that the personnel of Qatar Airways are ignoring all of her demands.

"The only way to get there on time was via this route. Despite knowing the circumstances, the employees of Qatar Airways in Mumbai are of no assistance whatsoever and are ignoring all of my pressing demands. Please assist me in getting rebooked on the next available flight since I need help immediately," she said.

Manika Batra is most famous for winning two gold medals at the Commonwealth Games. Additionally, she has a bronze medal from the Asian Cup, Asian Games, and Asian Championships.

Manika Batra is the first Indian woman to earn a bronze medal at the Asian Cup. She won the Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna in 2020.

Manika Batra became the first Indian paddler to advance to the Round of 16 in an Olympic singles event when she did so at the 2024 Paris Games. But she was defeated by Miu Hirano of Japan in five games.
