The first time Mahendra Singh Dhoni was seen on the plane was remembered by veteran India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja. He was afraid to see the famous cricketer. Due to their over ten-year association with Chennai Super Kings, Jadeja and Dhoni have a well-known and strong friendship. With Dhoni's early support playing a key role in shaping his rise on the big stage, the left-arm all-rounder also made his international debut under his captaincy.

During the IPL season, the camaraderie between the two is evident both on and off the field since Dhoni has already quit playing international cricket. When Dhoni lifted Jadeja after he scored the winning runs for CSK to win the IPL 2023 title, it was an image that cannot be forgotten.

Jadeja shared the story of when he first met Dhoni on a flight in 2005 in a conversation with Ravichandran Ashwin, a teammate at CSK. He admitted that he was reluctant to even meet him, something that is still sometimes the case today.

"The first time I ever saw MS Dhoni was in Chennai, at the Challengers Trophy 2005. He was also on the same flight from Mumbai, I believe. He was in the business class, while I was in the economy class. Everyone claimed that Dhoni was seated in front, but I was reluctant to approach him. On the most recent installment of Kutti Stories with Ash on R Ashwin's YouTube channel, Jadeja stated, "Even now, I still get hesitant to meet him when he is not in the mood."

Jadeja was questioned by Ashwin as to whether Dhoni, who is renowned for his composed and collected demeanor, ever loses his temper.

Jadeja replied that the CSK hero does get enraged on occasion, but that his face can show it even when he doesn't speak.

"You can clearly see from his face that he is not in the mood, even though he doesn't say anything," he continued.

"I was reluctant and wondered, how can I accompany him?"

Jadeja carried on with his narrative, saying that he was so reluctant to meet Dhoni that he chose to depart when the former IND captain's phone fell on the plane.

At the time, he was like MS Dhoni because I was a youngster, and he had long hair when I saw him on the plane. According to our manager, we must travel with Dhoni from the airport to the team hotel. I was unsure of myself and wondered how I could accompany him. Fortunately, he had to wait because his phone fell on the ground. I used to think about what I'd say to him because he's MS Dhoni, and I figured it was my chance to leave.
