After being officially inducted into the ICC Hall of Fame, renowned Indian cricketer MS Dhoni responded for the first time. At a spectacular event held at the famed Abbey Road Studios in London, the former India captain was one of seven legendary players inducted into the ICC Hall of Fame.

The other male cricketers to receive the honor, with the exception of Dhoni, were New Zealand legend Daniel Vettori, former Australia opener Matthew Hayden, former South Africa captain Graeme Smith, and South Africa's Hashim Amla. Former England wicketkeeper-batter Sarah Taylor and Pakistani Sana Mir were the two female inductees, bringing the total number of Hall of Famers to 122.

The ICC Hall of Famers, senior executives, and members of the press voted on the seven outstanding cricketers, who were inducted into the Hall of Fame at the "A Day with the Legends" ceremony.

The ICC's Hall of Fame initiative, which was established in 2009, has given Dhoni, the only captain to have won all three ICC white-ball tournaments and who has amassed over 17,000 runs in international competition, a sense of honor as it has recognized the contributions of the cricketers.

After being inducted into the ICC Hall of Fame, Dhoni responds.

MS Dhoni: A captain, wicketkeeper and batter beyond numbers

"It is an honor to be included in the ICC Hall of Fame, which honors the accomplishments of cricketers from throughout the globe and from all eras. It feels fantastic to have your name remembered with such legendary figures. It's something I'll treasure forever," he stated.

Dhoni has played against every member of the Hall of Fame for Men, and he has even shared a locker room with Hayden during his time with the Chennai Super Kings in the IPL.

Dhoni was inducted into the ICC Hall of Fame as the 11th Indian cricketer. The honor was previously granted to Sunil Gavaskar, Bishan Singh Bedi, Kapil Dev, Anil Kumble, Rahul Dravid, Sachin Tendulkar, Vinoo Mankad, Dian Edulji, Virender Sehwag, and Neetu David.

India, under Dhoni's guidance, ascended to the top of the game in all formats. In 2007, he led the team to victory at the first ICC Men's T20 World Cup. From December 2009, he led the Test rankings for 18 months, and in 2011, he ultimately won the 50-over World Cup, hitting the winning six in the final against Sri Lanka. He has captained his nation in more international games than anybody else, and at the end of 2019, the ICC inducted him into the ODI and T20I Teams of the Decade.

The ICC Hall of Fame honors the best athletes the game has ever produced, people whose outstanding careers have influenced the legacy of cricket and motivated future generations," ICC Chairman Jay Shah stated.

With candidates admitted only five years after their final international game, the ICC Hall of Fame honors the remarkable accomplishments of cricket legends who have contributed to the sport's rich and dynamic history.

As part of the ICC's centennial celebrations, the ICC Hall of Fame was established in January 2009. It has subsequently contributed to honoring the greatest players in the long and distinguished history of the game.
