Stringent examination is an inevitable result of the recognition and responsibility that comes with being the captain of the Indian Test team. Even though Shubman Gill wasn't really out of the limelight, his promotion to captain of India's Test team increased its intensity to a degree that he may have never anticipated, let alone lived through. The leadership role has worked wonders for the batting department. One would have to admit that the captaincy is still a work in progress. However, he is only 25. What brand Gill's leadership will be linked to is another issue that has yet to be resolved. Does he have the same demeanor as MS Dhoni—calm and collected? Or does he agree with Virat Kohli's philosophy of countering fire with fire and emerging victorious? Rohit Sharma's relaxed yet powerful manner is next.

The results have been varied so far. Although Gill seems to be more in line with the Dhoni group by temperament, the events of Day 3 at Lord's show that he also has a lot of fire in him. Since Indian players are generally treated favorably by many international clubs these days, as you can see, this may be a novel experience for Shubman Gill. Thus, this was uncharted area. He continued, saying, "And he seemed uncertain and in no mood for it."

With a record-breaking 269, two hundreds, and nearly 600 runs, Gill arrived at Lord's. In comparison to his time in Birmingham and Leeds, the circumstances were significantly more challenging. Compared to the old and soft balls he had faced in the first innings, the ball in the second innings was harder and newer.

Right at the beginning of the innings, Gill missed a full toss outside the off stump. During India's 193-run chase, he was out lbw after missing an in-dipper from Brydon Carse, but he managed to escape a caught behind dismissal by using DRS. Despite a tenacious display from Ravindra Jadeja, Jasprit Bumrah, and Mohammed Siraj, the tourists failed. India lost the match by 22 runs and is now behind England 1-2 in the five-game series.

"The way he hit the ball, we could see it play out." Because these were decent deliveries, but he's handled his marathon at-bat through the series flawlessly. And then, all of a sudden, he missed those shots. In addition to this, there was also a review scenario. The next pitch saw a leg before. It has been difficult to break through Shubman Gill's defense. He has made very few errors. The control percentage has been fantastic. And all of a sudden, he's missed four of his nine pitches [in the second inning]. Manjrekar said, "I have no doubt that there is a link there."
