The Lahore Qalandars won their third Pakistan Super League championship last week after beating the Quetta Gladiators in the championship game. Nevertheless, a fascinating video has surfaced of the post-game festivities in the locker room, in which Shaheen Afridi can be seen speaking to the squad. In a video that has gone viral, Captain Afridi made a surprising statement in front of his ecstatic team in the locker room: "This time, everyone's getting an iPhone."

With a six-wicket victory securing the championship, the statement set off a complete party, complete with shouts and leaps from a team that was already ecstatic. It was the abrupt change from tradition, not simply the phones themselves, that came as a surprise. Previously, at the conclusion of each game, Lahore gave an iPhone exclusively to the selected "Player of the Match" in the dressing room. However, after winning his third championship in four years, Afridi discarded that manual.

Kusal Perera's unbroken 62 helped Qalandars achieve the highest-ever PSL final chase of 202 runs, with excellent help from young players Mohammad Naeem (46) and Abdullah Shafique (41). Although the match went to the final over, Sikandar Raza, who had just arrived in Lahore ten minutes prior to the toss, calmly ended it with a six and a four in the very end.

After victories in 2022 and 2023, Lahore won their third championship.

Reaching Lahore and succeeding was incredible, according to Raza.

"It's amazing that I bowled for more than 40 overs in the Test, flew to Dubai where I had breakfast, then had lunch in Abu Dhabi, and got there just a few minutes before the toss," he said.

After winning the toss and choosing to bat, Quetta were led to a score of 201-9 by Hasan Nawaz's outstanding 76. Nawaz came in at 21-2 and helped to steady the ship by adding 67 for the fourth wicket with Avishka Fernando (29) and 46 more with Dinesh Chandimal (22). With statistics of 3/24, Lahore captain Shaheen Afridi was their best bowler.

With 23 runs off the final Salman Mirza over, Faheem Ashraf, 28, carried Quetta above 200. After the conflict between India and Pakistan, the six-team PSL was suspended on May 9. But after a truce between the two nations, the league began again on May 17.
