Kuldeep Yadav, a leg spinner for Team India, disclosed that he, not the newly appointed captain Shubman Gill, has occupied Rohit Sharma's seat on the team bus. Rohit, who captained India in the previous two editions of the World Test Championship, declared his retirement before the upcoming cycle, and the BCCI has selected Shubman as his replacement. However, Kuldeep chose to take his seat on the team bus to sit next to experienced Ravindra Jadeja.
Kuldeep acknowledged during a press conference on Sunday that he had assumed Rohit Sharma's position in the team bus.
Kuldeep stated in the news conference, "Uspe main baithta hu (I sit there)."
The leggie also explained why he cannot take his former skipper's position, which has to do with the experienced Jadeja, however he additionally stated that he cannot do so.
"I can never take Rohit bhai's place. It's simply that I am spending more time with Jaddu Bhai. Since Ash bhai is not here, it's crucial for me as a spinner. I have gained a lot of knowledge from him. I played with them both when I first started playing cricket. I'm very fortunate to have Jadeja as my spin partner. "I'm enjoying it," Kuldeep stated.

'Rohit bhai and Virat bhai have really helped the squad a lot.'
Jadeja, who has played 12 Tests in England, now has greater obligation due to R. Ashwin's retirement. Kuldeep Yadav, the team's only specialist spinner, has just bowled nine overs in his lone Test match.
Meanwhile, it will be a significant challenge for the youngsters to assert themselves after Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma retire. They will have to do this under difficult circumstances, where batters will find it challenging to deal with the swing and the weather. Shubman, the skipper, will also be under a lot of pressure to deliver with the bat, as his recent overseas batting performance has been below par.
"The absence of the seniors is always noticeable when they leave. Rohit bhai and Virat bhai have really helped the squad a lot. Young people will have a chance to excel, though they will be missed. However, I'm sure everyone would miss the seniors. However, the young people are looking forward to the difficulty. He continued, "The batsmen are putting in a lot of effort in the nets and preparing really well."
