Karthik’s High Praise for Bumrah Matches Kohinoor’s Value, Shastri’s Malcolm Marshall Comment Wins Hearts

Following his masterclass in Leeds on Day 3 of the first test match against England, Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah once again mesmerized the world of cricket. He took two additional wickets on Day 2 of the match, bringing his total to three, and narrowly missed India's score, coming within six runs of it, to complete his 14th five-wicket haul, which prevented England from establishing a first-innings lead in their own backyard.
In the second innings at Headingley, Bumrah was all alone since he couldn't get any help from the other bowlers or the fielders. Despite three dropped catches off his bowling on Saturday, Bumrah ended with 3 for 48, leaving the game in a tie at the end of Day 2. The next day, he scored two more runs, bringing his total to 34, while the other three pacers—Shardul Thakur, Mohammed Siraj, and Prasidh Krishna—took three wickets for 288 runs.
In just 34 away Test appearances, Bumrah recorded his 12th five-wicket haul, matching the great Kapil Dev, who accomplished the same feat in 66 games.
Former India cricketer Dinesh Karthik couldn't contain his excitement when he told Sky Cricket that Bumrah is "as valuable as the Kohinoor diamond." He pointed out that the India star has the best bowling average (19.33) of any of the 86 cricketers in history who have taken at least 200 wickets in Test cricket.

"He is as precious as the Kohinoor diamond." I want people to see how vital he is to the team in any format. Regardless of the format, bowling phase, or sort of ball, he will make it work. But most importantly, he has the mind that can understand what the batter is trying to do, and he has that knowledge well-wired. "He has the best average among all bowlers who have taken over 200 wickets throughout the history of the game, which indicates that he is something very special," he stated.
But Ravi Shastri, the former head coach of India, stole the show by comparing Bumrah to Kapil and the legendary Malcolm Marshall. In terms of reading and setting up the hitter, Shastri thought that Bumrah was not far behind the former India captain and West Indies legend.
"Without a doubt, he is the best fast bowler in India. Kapil Dev and I have played together, but this man is unique. In any manner, on any surface, he can dismantle any resistance. Although this man is not far behind Malcolm Marshall, whom I considered to be the best I have ever seen at reading a batter and setting him up, this man is still close. He told Sky Cricket that his new ball is so difficult for any hitter in the world to handle due to the movement and late release.
India held a little six-run advantage in the first innings thanks to Bumrah's five wickets for 83 runs, which they increased by 90 runs at the end of Day 3. On Day 2, India was 90 for two at stumps.
