With the support of the BCCI and after successfully battling an infection that landed him in the hospital a few months prior, Vinod Kambli, whose declining health had the whole Indian cricket community concerned, has been able to put his life back on track. Kambli's presence at the unveiling of the Ramakant Achrekar monument last December caused concerns about his health. Due to health problems, the former India batter, whose career went downhill after a bright beginning in the early 1990s, stayed in the headlines for the following 60 days or so. In an interview. Kambli said that he had fallen and been found to have a urinary infection, and that he had been readmitted to the hospital because of a relapse just as he appeared to be getting better.

Despite the fact that Kambli has remained in good shape this year, his situation still raises the most significant "what ifs" in Indian cricket. Despite being one of the greatest unutilized potentials in Indian cricket, Kambli continues to be its greatest enigma. Kambli might have become a legend if he had only managed his distractions effectively. However, not all goes according to plan. We are aware that Kambli was always a promising player. However, the news of Kambli's talent had already reached foreign shores prior to his entry into the Indian team. Kambli was already in England, playing for a local club, and had made friends there when his boyhood buddy Sachin Tendulkar made history by joining Yorkshire. Adam Solly, who was in charge of Tendulkar's contract, served as a father figure to Kambli. However, Kambli displayed faith in his cricketing skills and declined the offer. Kambli gave his father the 700 pounds he had made during a strong season. However, the young man never had an interest in managing money.

"One day we were sitting, 10 cricketers. All of them had part-time jobs except for Vinod and Sachin. So, a Mumbai cricketer questioned Vinod, "Why don't you work at one of Solly's places since you only make 25 pounds a match?" Vinod didn't give it any thought before responding, "I and Sachin will make money playing Test cricket, I don't want to divert my attention doing part-time jobs." Wow, what assurance! In an interview with IE, Solly said, "He was very young, far from being a Test batsman but he had the confidence."

Vinod gave his father all of his money and spent it with his friends when he came back to India, according to Solly's book. Vinod had no regard for wealth or commodities, and he never paid attention to it.
