Joyful Siraj and Pant Bask in India’s Iconic Edgbaston Triumph: Destiny Smiles on Akash Deep

With their greatest victory ever on foreign soil, India overcame Edgbaston to tie the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy at 1-1, leaving fans with a thrilling conclusion to the series. Mohammed Siraj and Akash Deep each took two six-fers in each inning, which kept India in the game throughout, even though Shubman Gill's outstanding performance, scoring a massive 269 and 161 in the same game, rightly made the news.
After the game, Siraj spoke to the BCCI's social media, describing how he attempted to fill the role of the team's senior seamer by mentoring the amazing Akash Deep, who took 6 wickets in the second innings and 4 in the first.
"I was at mid-off directing him anytime he was bowling." All I said to him was, "Don't look for wickets; just put the ball in the same spot and you'll get wickets." If it's in his destiny, he'll get a fifer, I replied. Siraj, who was beaming, grasped a stump with his own first innings stats of 6-70 written on it and said, "He got a fifer the next day in the second innings."

"I got everything I wanted...," Akash said.
Akash accepted the praises of his bowling companion with humility and grace, noting that the fact that his debut five-fer in Test cricket might have helped his team win made the compliments all the more gratifying.
"The most significant aspect is that our club triumphed in the game in which I grabbed five wickets. That I could help our team win made me the proudest. My first five-fer would not make me as pleased if it were a tie. I received everything I desired, according to Akash Deep.
After the previous time India played a Test at Edgbaston, this was a cathartic triumph for Rishabh Pant, the Indian vice captain. India was unable to seal their outstanding series the previous summer because England staged a record pursuit, despite the fact that Pant had hit a century on that day in 2022.
"Our work at Edgbaston was unfinished the last time we visited. The wicket-keeper, who scored a counter-punching 65 in the third innings, stated, "This time, we were so happy we were able to accomplish it. One thing we always talk about is how we can learn as a team and defy whatever we have done in the past. However, this team was brought together and raised to a new level. That's all we require.
The squad only has a little break before the third Test match of the series, which starts on July 10.
