James Anderson, a renowned fast bowler, thanked the media for associating him with the forthcoming Test series between India and England. The series is slated to be renamed in honor of the two legends, Anderson, the most prolific wicket-taker among pacers in Test history, and Sachin Tendulkar, a batting legend, who were both honored. Prior to the Test series in England, the BCCI and ECB made the important decision to replace the venerable Pataudi Trophy with the Anderson-Tendulkar trophy.

In red-ball cricket, Tendulkar and Anderson had several unforgettable on-field duels, eventually becoming legendary figures in their respective fields.

The English legend was overjoyed to receive the honor and shared it with someone like Sachin, who he claimed he admired as a child.

"It's a huge honour," Anderson said during a DP World function at Lord's to ESPNcricinfo. "I still can't quite believe it. I admired Sachin as a child, but I don't want to insult him by bringing up his age, he continued.

Tendulkar received praise from Anderson, who expressed his pride at receiving this recognition.

"I remember playing against him a lot, and I also saw him play—he was a complete legend of the game. Therefore, having this trophy is a great honor for me, and I couldn't be prouder, he continued.

Following an amazing career of 188 tests, Anderson is lauded as England's best fast bowler, shortly after announcing his retirement. With 200 Test matches under his belt, the legendary Indian batsman Sachin Tendulkar established the standard for excellence before announcing his retirement in 2013.

The Test series between India and England has had two separate names up to this point, depending on the host country: the Anthony de Mello Trophy in India, named after one of the BCCI's founding members and its first secretary and president, and the Pataudi Trophy in England, named after former India captain Mansur Ali Khan Pataudi.

"A truly unique experience winning in India"

In addition, Anderson spoke on competing against India, describing the victory in the 2007 Test series as a career highlight.

"There are some wonderful memories, and I always enjoyed competing against India," Anderson stated. "Following the Ashes, it was the series that England looked forward to the most, in my opinion. It's a very difficult nation to visit, and I undoubtedly had some difficult experiences there, but we prevailed, which was a very memorable occasion, and some of the battles we fought in England were fantastic. He said, "They had some fantastic players."
