Following his resounding victory over Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. in Anaheim, California on Saturday night, Jake Paul is getting ready for greater competition.
After defeating the former middleweight champion, Paul yelled to the booing crowd to "shut the f--k up."
"All the boos are words, and actions speak louder than words, so y'all can shut the f--- up!" Paul said in the post-match interview, making fun of the crowd, according to Fox News. "I'm hip, I'm really hip, I just beat your boy's a--, easy work, year five, wait till I get going even more motherf---ers!"
"I did great," Jake Paul claims in his "flawless" battle.
Paul dubbed his match against Chavez "perfect" in the words of Andreas Hale of ESPN, who continued, "I think I only got hit 10 times. He merely made it through and praised my performance. fighting a former world champion for ten rounds who has never been defeated. I humiliated him like that when he was in there with Canelo and all these other men.
He also named Anthony Joshua, Gervonta Davis, Badou Jack, and Gilberto Ramírez as possible opponents in his quest to win the world title. Additionally, he told Tommy Fury to "Stop running."
In the ten rounds, Paul won the judges' choice by a score of 99-91, 97-93, and 98-92, according to the punching statistics. Overall, "The Problem Child" threw 140 punches as opposed to Chavez's 61. He was particularly skilled at jabbing and ultimately had a commanding 65–8 lead.
Despite the fact that Paul's victory is his greatest, it is still unlikely that he will be able to shake off the pervasive pessimism that has surrounded his conflicts.
Here's what Chavez Jr. said after the fight
"I believed I had lost the first five rounds, so I attempted to win the last ones," Chávez stated. "He's a good, powerful boxer for the first three or four rounds. I could tell that he was exhausted after that. He's a decent fighter, but I don't believe he's prepared for the champions.
Chavez is notorious for not maximizing his father's genetic potential.
At the age of 39, Chavez fell to Canelo Álvarez eight years ago, and his WBC middleweight championship reign came to an end in 2012.
Since 2021, he has only fought once. He is still, by far, the most honorable opponent Paul has ever faced in his thriving career as a fighter, which has included 13 battles over the course of five and a half years.
Paul's bout with Mike Tyson, when the heavyweight superstar was unable to mount much of an attack, was likened by some fans to the Saturday fight.
