In a candid and direct discussion about his career, the 45-year-old Harbhajan Singh lately joined R Ashwin on his well-liked YouTube podcast. He covered a wide range of subjects, from his early cricket days to his retirement, and even brought up the contentious argument with S Sreesanth at the first IPL tournament.

At the conclusion of a league match during IPL 2008, Harbhajan, who was playing for MI, smacked Sreesanth, who was playing for Kings XI Punjab. As a result, the BCCI banned the spinner from playing in the remaining matches.

Harbhajan told Ashwin that if there was one thing he could change in his life, it would be the incident with his former teammate. “The one thing I would change in my life is that incident with Sreesanth,” he stated. I wish to have that episode expunged from my professional history. From my list, I would alter that event. What happened was bad, and I shouldn't have acted the way I did. “Even years after that incident, I still feel terrible, and I have been apologizing at every chance or venue I get. It was a mistake. Everyone makes errors, and we all pray and strive to avoid making them again. We were teammates and played together. We were opponents in that game, yes. However, we shouldn't have acted in this way at this point. Yeah, it was my fault, and the only thing he did wrong was make me mad, but that's all right. But what I did was wrong. “Sorry,” I replied.

He continued by saying, "What hurt me even after many years was when I met his daughter and I was talking to her with a lot of love and she said, 'I don't want to talk to you. You struck my father. I felt like I could cry because my heart had broken. What kind of impression did I leave on her, I wondered? She must have a negative opinion of me because she sees me as the man who assaulted her father. I felt terrible. I would like to express my sincere apologies to his daughter for my inability to assist.

"I keep telling her, 'But please tell me if there's anything I can do to make you feel better and convince you that I'm not that kind of person.'" When she grows up, I hope she doesn't view me in the same way. And know that her uncle will always be by her side and offer any kind of assistance he can. For that reason, I want to delete that chapter," he said.
