Gambhir Mocked for Suggesting Kuldeep Yadav Bat in Top 3, Fans Propose Alternative Roles

Everyone is aware of India head coach Gautam Gambhir's fixation on having more all-rounders in the playing XI in order to strike a balance between the bowling and batting departments and give both greater depth. When India made three adjustments for the second Test match against England in Birmingham on Wednesday, it was again on show. Nevertheless, experts were perplexed by Kuldeep Yadav's recurring punishment, one of whom laughed at Gambhir for providing the spinner with a different way to meet the selection standards.
Former Indian cricketer Dodda Ganesh took to social media to express his surprise that Kuldeep wasn't included in the starting XI. In an effort to help Uttar Pradesh advance to the playing XI, Ganesh made a sly remark against Gambhir and encouraged Kuldeep to shine as a top-order batsman during the upcoming Ranji Trophy season.
"To be selected to play for India in the tests, Kuldeep should bat in the top three for Uttar Pradesh in the #RanjiTrophy and score runs. He tweeted that he can't think of any other way he can force his way back into a system where the team selection is determined by one's secondary skill.
Why did India choose Kuldeep Yadav?
As there was discussion regarding Jasprit Bumrah's participation in the Edgbaston Test, Kuldeep received considerable support for a spot in the starting XI. The leg-spinner was promoted to make his second Test match appearance on English soil since India had trouble selecting wickets in the series opener in Leeds, where Bumrah was the sole standout bowler with a five-wicket haul in the first innings.
But the team management supported Washington Sundar, an all-rounder, as the second spinner in the starting eleven, along with Ravindra Jadeja.
Shubman Gill, the captain, said in Birmingham after losing the toss and being invited to bat first, "We were tempted to play Kuldeep but looking at the last match, our lower order didn't do well, so decided to add some depth to the batting."
