Gambhir Holds Intense Huddle as Gill, Pant Miss Lord’s Practice; Bumrah Issues Stark Warning to England

Now that the caravan has moved to Lord's for the third Test, both sides will be hoping to take the series lead after Sunday's historic victory in Birmingham. The highlight of India's optional training session on Tuesday, which took place just three days after the game, was the introduction of the Lord's pitch.
The Times of India report stated that the Lord's pitch seemed "lush and green," suggesting that the seam bowlers would have plenty to work with in the game, which will start on Thursday, July 10. The team management gave the surface a quick glance before Gautam Gambhir and his other coaching staff engaged in a lengthy conversation. According to the report, "The intensity of the chat, combined with the visibly green top, suggests that India's strategy may revolve around exploiting any assistance for their quicks." Sitanshu Kotak, the team's batting coach, told the media on Tuesday that the fast bowlers will probably control the proceedings at the Lord's. "Pitch is very green. They'll give us a sense of it after they mow the lawn tomorrow. The batters will need to have the right attitude, and help for bowlers can be anticipated.
Following the outstanding performance at Edgbaston last week, Kotak expressed confidence in the Indian batsmen's ability to counter England's pace attack, which is expected to be strengthened with the addition of Jofra Archer. "Indian batters are very talented. They are scoring close to four without doing anything extra," he said.

Bumrah's caution to England: "No Gill, Pant."
As Tuesday's practice session was not mandatory, it was not attended by everyone, as Shubman Gill, Rishabh Pant, Washington Sundar, Mohammed Siraj, Akash Deep, KL Rahul, and Yashasvi Jaiswal missed their training. On Monday, the players had just taken the bus from Birmingham to London, and they chose not to go to the training session the next day.
However, the management made the decision to rest Bumrah for the Birmingham game, and all eyes were on him as he prepared to rejoin the playing XI. According to a RevSportz article, the Indian fast bowler went all out for 45 minutes in the nets before heading to batting practice after a brief conversation with Gambhir.
On English soil, Bumrah has 42 wickets at an average of 26.47, including three five-wicket hauls, one of which occurred in the series' first game in Leeds last month. The 31-year-old's return to the XI may put more pressure on the English batsman, who might be up against the Bumrah, Akash, and Siraj combination on the Lord's green top. In the prior game, the latter pair had given the home side problems, taking 16 of the 20 wickets, including six with the new ball.
