On social media, Rick Carlisle, the head coach of the Indiana Pacers, received a lot of criticism for pulling Tyrese Haliburton, the team's star point guard, out of the NBA Finals Game 7 against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Sunday. The Pacers lost their drive when the 25-year-old tore his Achilles in the first quarter.

Haliburton had to sit out minutes during the playoffs due to a significant calf ailment. But he was loud and unwavering in his desire to compete in the finals. His season came to a sad conclusion on Sunday when he collapsed on the court. Visibly annoyed, the 25-year-old started hitting the floor and required assistance getting to the locker room.

According to ABC, Tyrese's father, John Haliburton, said that it was an Achilles tendon rupture. The remainder of the game saw the Pacers rule out their playoff standout.

“It’s a heartbreak, man,” Pacers center Myles Turner told ABC. “It’s unfortunate… but we’ve got his back.”

Haliburton's injury prompted a Twitter uproar, and Carlisle, the Pacers' coach, was criticized for letting him play.

On the site formerly known as Twitter, one user said, "I am solely blaming Rick Carlisle for Haliburton's Achilles, and I will destroy Carlisle if Indiana loses."

Tyrese persisted through a calf injury that resulted in an Achilles break in the two games prior to leading your franchise to its first title. "You can blame medical staff, but I will always respect him for the remainder of his career," someone else said.

Haliburton had stated before Game 6 that he wished to participate.

"I believe I must be as intelligent as I want to be. Ask the appropriate questions and comprehend the hazards. I'm competitive. I want to play. I'll do all I can to play. It is what it is.
