‘Disappointing’: Manjrekar Blames Jadeja for Leeds Loss, Discards Bumrah Excuse

The Indian team was the subject of two stories as the newly revamped Shubman Gill-led team faced England in Leeds. The fact that five centuries were seen during the two innings that were shortened alleviated all concerns regarding the batting lineup, which was considered "inexperienced" following the departure of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, while Jasprit Bumrah was commiserated for the lack of assistance from other fasts. However, in analyzing the cause of India's five-wicket defeat in Leeds, former India cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar did not agree with the second scenario.
Manjrekar chose not to hold the fast bowlers responsible for the outcome when speaking to Star Sports following the conclusion of the game at Headingley, where England easily chased down 371—their second-highest chase at home—four years after their best-ever performance, which occurred against India as well. He stated that there was nothing in the pitch for the seamers, particularly on Day 5.
Manjrekar actually complimented England opener Ben Duckett on how he approached Bumrah and Ravindra Jadeja on his way to scoring his game-winning century.
"The pitch, strangely enough, didn't provide any lateral movement for India's seam bowlers. The pitch couldn't be exploited by Bumrah either. There's nothing in the air either. Additionally, Ben Duckett has one of the greatest records against Jadeja and Bumrah, and he is very good against Bumrah. He has also faced Jadeja at home, and I don't believe he has ever been dismissed by Jadeja. Thus, you're on track for a victory if your English batter is excellent against two of your frontline bowlers.

Jadeja performed badly.
On Day 5, Manjrekar severely criticized Jadeja's bowling, claiming that the pitch was perfect for him to take advantage of the rough patch and give the England batsmen problems. The former India batter said he was "disappointed" to see Jadeja's performance, who was the team's most seasoned player.
"See, it's not fair to be critical of the younger players like Prasidh Krishna. Although there are clear areas for improvement, I'm going to be harsh on Jadeja because this is the final day of the game. He has a rough to play with. And I know there were a few opportunities there in the end, but we have to demand more from Jadeja. This is not representative of the usual weather in England. This is not the place where the pitch has nothing to offer. In my opinion, he didn't play Ben Stokes hard enough. He did, but towards the end of the day's play, he entered the innings and began using the rough from seasoned bowlers. You would expect more from seasoned batsmen. I believe that Jadeja's performance was somewhat let down by the fact that the seamers had nothing to work with in the surface. However, Jadeja has at least something, he added.
In his 24 overs of bowling in the last innings, the spinner only managed to take one wicket while giving up 104 runs.
