Spanish media released the terrible news on Thursday, July 3, at 2 p.m. IST, stating that a Lamborghini driven by Diogo Jota and his brother Andre Silva had crashed, killing both the driver and passenger.

The pair of brothers were later discovered to be returning to Liverpool in preparation for the pre-season camp on Monday. Although emergency personnel hurried to the scene of the accident, there was nothing they could do since the victims were declared dead at the site.

The passing of Jota caused a global stir, and it also led famous people like Cristiano Ronaldo, Andrew Robertson, and former Liverpool head coach Jurgen Klopp to say a few words in tribute to the late Portuguese attacker.

The 28-year-old's physiotherapist has just disclosed the specifics of the player's ongoing physiotherapy session hours prior to the incident.

Miguel Goncalves, a respiratory therapist, had been helping Jota recuperate from a collapsed lung or pneumothorax.

Jota endured the agony of the illness even if he won the Nations League with Portugal and the Premier League with Liverpool. Therefore, Jota participated in a rehabilitation session with Goncalves as part of his recovery.

Speaking to Portuguese news source Record, Goncalves disclosed: At around 8:30 p.m., I bade farewell to him and his brother, Andre.

He told SportsBible that "his brother was a great companion and decided to go with him, to accompany him on the trip, and that way they would also spend more time together."

"He informed me that the trip would take around eight hours, but that they would break at a hotel in the Burgos region to relax. They were just meant to arrive in Santander today, take the boat, and then go to England.

The family would arrange their lives throughout the weekend after arriving by plane later, and then, on Monday, they had a medical visit planned in Liverpool to evaluate the circumstances.
