New Delhi: The Delhi Premier League - School Juniors, an inter-school cricket tournament hosted by the Delhi & District Cricket Association (DDCA) in collaboration with Hindustan Times, got off to a thrilling start at the Netaji Subhash Sports Complex in Jasola Vihar on Friday. The competition, which includes 16 of the best school teams in Delhi, such as Modern School, Delhi Public School, Bal Bharti Public School, and Green Fields School, seeks to find and develop young cricket talent throughout the capital.

According to the tournament format for the early rounds, the teams engaged in four exciting knockout games on the opening day, playing 10 overs each.

In the opening game, DPS Vasant Kunj defeated Kulachi Hansraj Model School by 10 runs. While Kulachi Hansraj was able to hold on, DPS only managed 66/4. Pratyaksh Ojha was awarded Player-of-the-Match for his overall performance.

The quarter-finals will also be a 10-over-a-side contest. The semifinals and the championship game will be 20 overs per team. The top three teams will receive trophies and cash awards.
