Cycling to The Oval: England Avoid Traffic Woes, West Indies Delayed
6 months ago | 5 Views
Due to a strange cause, the toss was delayed at The Oval during the third and last ODI between England and the West Indies. It seems that the team led by Shai Hope arrived late to the location due to significant traffic in London, which caused a significant delay. Nevertheless, the social media accounts of England Cricket showed how their athletes managed to overcome the traffic and arrive at the location on schedule as the story spread across social media.
In a 23-second film with the headline, "Arriving at the ground in style. Only one way to beat the road closures in London," England cricket demonstrated that the players were able to overcome the traffic restrictions by cycling to the stadium.
Later, at the time of the toss, England captain Harry Brook stated, "We were on the bus for a while, but then we all decided to get off and get on some lime bikes in. We were in a little bit earlier than the West Indies boys, but we are here now ready to go."
Due to the late arrival of the West Indies players to the location—nearly 15 minutes late—the toss was postponed for 40 minutes. But there were no overs lost.
In the series finale, England decided to bowl first, and Brook chose not to alter the starting XI.
We haven't talked yet, but it will be along the lines of "let's try to be as dominant as possible." We're going to make every effort to try and win the series 3-0 since we have a chance to do so. One thing we didn't have in the first game, which is very good to see, was Root's huge score. Hopefully a few other boys may experience the same thing today. I really appreciate the balance we have; we have a lot of depth with the bat, which allows us to chase down scores like the other day, when we had a difficult start. Our bowling team is also strong, he said.
With the addition of Evin Lewis and Shamar Joseph, the West Indies made two adjustments.
"The chats we had before the game, we were definitely better in the previous game, and we carried out a lot better with both bat and ball. I'm simply hoping for a victory today and for a repeat of what I saw yesterday. Being a little more clinical with our strategies, dealing with each moment as it comes, carrying out those plans, and maintaining that positive attitude that we constantly talk about and try to be as consistent as we can, Hope said.
The West Indies, who lost the first two games, will be looking for a consolation victory in London before the series continues with the three-match T20I series.
