The talk of the town this regular season has been Caitlin Clark's injuries. The Indiana Fever's star player has already missed a record number of games this season due to the four injuries that have been recorded during the regular season thus far. The most recent update from coach Stephanie White is that Clark might also miss Tuesday's (July 22) matchup against the New York Liberty.

The comments made by coach Stephanie White

On Sunday (July 20), when the Fever resumed practice, coach White answered questions from reporters, including queries about when Clark might return to the game.

“She’s going to see some doctors and get some more tests around early in the week,” she told IndyStar. “You know, I don’t expect her to be available on Tuesday, so we’re just going to continue to take it one day at a time and let her get her evaluations early this week, and then once we’ve done that, hopefully we’ll have a clear line of what it looks like.”

Clark sustained the injury in question during the July 15 game against the Connecticut Sun. The obvious strain on her right groin was evident on her face after she passed to Kelsey Mitchell with just 30 seconds remaining in the game.

This season, the timeline of Clark's injuries

Clark has missed 11 of the Fever's 23 regular games this year. USA Today reported that this is her fourth muscle injury. Prior to her most recent injury, she had suffered a left groin injury during a game against the Seattle Storm, an incident involving quad tightness, and an injury to her left quad while playing the Liberty.

Due to her recent strain, she had to miss the WNBA All-Star game and 3-point competition last week. "When the injury happened, it was pretty frustrating, considering I knew what the coming days were gonna hold for myself," she said in an interview with IndyStar before the All-Star Game.

"However, I feel like handling that, and then also just trying to view it in the most positive light that I can. ... I believe it all boils down to having a good perspective on everything."

In addition to fellow All-Stars Boston and Mitchell, Clark was also absent from Sunday's practice. It's still unknown when she will be back on the court, and it's likely that she will miss Tuesday's game.

In Barclays Center on Tuesday, July 22, at 8 PM EST, the Fever will face the Liberty.
