Caitlin Clark vs. Liberty? Here’s the Latest on Her Injury Recovery

The subject of conversation during this regular season has been Caitlin Clark's injuries. The Indiana Fever's best player has already missed a record number of games this season due to four reported injuries during the regular season. According to the most recent update from coach Stephanie White, Clark may also miss Tuesday's (July 22) game against New York Liberty.
When the Fever resumed practice on Sunday (July 20), coach White responded to media queries, including specifics about when Clark might be expected to return to action.
According to IndyStar, she said, "She's going to see some doctors and get some more tests around early in the week. You know, I don't expect her to be available on Tuesday, so we're just going to continue to take it one day at a time and let her get her evaluations early this week, and then once we've done that, hopefully we'll have a clear line of what it looks like."
Clark sustained the injury during the July 15 match against the Connecticut Sun. After passing to Kelsey Mitchell with 30 seconds remaining in the game, the evident tension in her right groin was apparent on her face.
The Fever's schedule for this season includes 23 regular games, 11 of which Clark has had to skip. According to USA Today, this is her fourth muscle injury. Prior to her most recent injury, she had experienced an incident involving quad tightness, an injury to her left quad when playing against the Liberty, and an injury to her left groin while playing against the Seattle Storm.
Due to her most recent strain, she was forced to miss last week's WNBA All-Star game and 3-point competition. "It was quite irritating when the injury occurred, given I knew what the coming days were going to hold for myself," she told reporters before the All-Star Game, according to IndyStar.
"However, I feel like I'm coping with that, and I'm also making an effort to see it in the best possible light. ... Ultimately, I believe it all comes down to having a good perspective on things."
In addition to Mitchell and fellow All-Stars Aliyah Boston, Clark was absent from Sunday's practice. At the moment, it's unknown when she will be back on the court, and she'll probably be missing Tuesday's game.
On Tuesday, July 22, at 8 p.m. EST, the Fever will face the Liberty in Barclays Center.
