The turning point from the Lord's Test led the hosts to choose to hand it back to India, according to top England batter Harry Brook. In the third game, tension between the two teams flared up, with India attacking the English batsmen in the opening innings, including a verbal altercation between Zak Crawley and Indian captain Shubman Gill. Additionally, the hosts chose to be aggressive in their defense of a 193-run total, as seen by Jofra Archer's outburst after dismissing Rishabh Pant.

The English team decided to meet up after the Indian side became energized on Crawly and Duckett during the business end of Day 3 as a result of their time-wasting strategies.

"Yeah, we saw them guys going at Creeps (Zak Crawley) and Ducky (Ben Duckett), so we had a little talk and we thought we were a team, so we may as well combine with each other, get together and yeah, go back in there," Brook said before the fourth Test in Manchester.

The 26-year-old admitted that England's high level of energy on the field was a deliberate reaction to what had happened the day before.

“Everyone gave me a lot of compliments, saying that it was great to see, that it seemed like there were 11 people versus 2 people out there, that we were fielding, and that it was all enjoyable. It was enjoyable. It was exhausting, but yeah, it was alright. It made fielding a lot more enjoyable," he stated.

Reflecting on England's aggressive on-field strategy, Brook conceded that it was a deliberate tactic that was brought about by a previous event in the series. Brook mentioned a tense moment when Jasprit Bumrah delivered a strong over, stating that the team reevaluated their plan and decided when to react with intensity.

"Yeah, definitely." And we would make every effort to play in the spirit of the game. Furthermore, as you mentioned, those guys went all out that night when Bumrah bowled that single over and were quite creepy and ducky. As a result, we reevaluated and determined that it was the appropriate moment to retaliate against them, he continued.
