India responded with a superb all-around effort in the second game of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy, winning by the most runs they have ever scored away from home. The visitors tied the score in Birmingham at 1-1 by recording a resounding 336-run win. It is good news for the Indians, whose batting is doing exceptionally well and whose bowling is improving steadily with each session.

The expected comeback of Jasprit Bumrah, who was given a break at Edgbaston, will raise the spirits of Indian supporters even more with a quick turnaround prior to the series' third Test match at Lord's. Although Indian fans will be excited, Bumrah's name didn't make one man smile as much.

When questioned about the potential of Bumrah's comeback with the series on the line, England captain Ben Stokes responded tersely and briefly, not wanting to answer any more queries regarding the Indian speedster. Following England's defeat, Stokes voiced his displeasure at the post-game press conference.

The English captain, who was still stung by the defeat just hours before, said, "I thought I'd get through a press conference without being asked about Jasprit Bumrah."

But when they got to London, he went on to describe how the hitting team would attempt to counter that threat. "You know what you will be facing because we play against each other so frequently, so you practice it in training. Try to work with the coaches and sidearms as much as possible, going wide on the crease, and attempting to replicate the practice you would receive from their bowling lineup," Stokes said.

Following a difficult day at the plate, Stokes is cautious about the threat posed by Bumrah.

Despite the fact that the English captain had also voiced his displeasure with the 'subcontinent-like' conditions at Edgbaston on Day 5, after the pitch had been quite flat throughout the game, he remained conscious of the fact that India would provide a challenge that was hard to replicate in the nets: “It’s always difficult to duplicate something that will come down at you in a game.”

“The loss here is a disappointment since it would have been great to carry the momentum over from the first game, but we don’t find ourselves sitting here like that. The English captain said in summary, "We have to sweep this one under the carpet as fast as we can since Lord's day one will be coming around pretty quickly."

Before Lord's, India will want to figure out the proper balance in their bowling lineup, while England will want to do their research to see how to counter the visitors' pace-bowling prowess from the second Test match.
