All things are brought to pass by Ben Stokes. With an odd leg-side trap, he dismissed Sai Sudharsan, who was making his debut, for a duck, shortly after India lost KL Rahul's wicket following a superb 91-run opening stand. To defeat Jaiswal, who was batting at 101, he bowled a stunningly good delivery out of nowhere when Yashavi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill were on the verge of destroying the English side in the Test. However, Rishabh Pant is his equal.

Jaiswal was out for a superb 101, and India's newly appointed vice-captain entered the field. They were in a strong position at 221 for 3, but Stokes was in the middle of a strong spell; any leeway may give England a foothold. The first delivery of Pant's was a straight bat defense. He ran down the course in the next ball and smacked Stokes over his head for a boundary.

Although no pacer wants to be hit in that way and charged down the track, Stokes, who is a unique cricketer, was by no means enraged or upset. Indeed, he let out a hearty chuckle, as though he were really enjoying it.

The England captain even approached Pant and had a few kind words for him. It should be noted that Stokes has been a vocal supporter of Pant. In the Indian team, he went so far as to say that Pant plays Bazball-style cricket.

Pant performed admirably in not being drawn into any impulsive strokes as Stokes kept pitching a challenging spell to him. By changing his lengths and speed, Stkes was able to keep Pant honest. He even attempted a few deadly bouncers and a slower one that nearly caught Pant in front of the stumps, but the Indian keeper-batter managed to escape.

India kept dominating the Test match proceedings as Pant's patient batting prevented England from gaining any entry. With his dazzling century, Captain Shubman Gill joined Vijay Hazare, Sunil Gavaskar, and Virat Kohli as the fourth Indian captain to score a hundred in his first game as captain. Gill scored his sixth Test century, his first in a SENA nation.

As India exceeded 300, Gill and Pant mentioned their century partnership as Pant approached his half-century.

A strong start by Yashasvi Jaiswal and KL Rahul set the stage for the innings. Although India quickly lost Rahul (42) and newcomer Sai Sudharsan (0), Gill and Jaiswal's 129-run stand for the third wicket truly gave India the advantage.

Jaiswal scored a magnificent century in his debut Test in England. Only Stokes's amazing delivery could have brought him to a halt.
