In preparation for the upcoming Manchester Test against England, which begins on Wednesday, July 23, the Indian team is concerned about its fitness. Nitish Kumar Reddy has been ruled out of the series because of a knee ailment, and Akash Deep and Arshdeep Singh are unlikely to be in shape in time for the fourth Test of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy. Given how things are moving, the young seamer is expected to make his Manchester debut, and Haryana pacer Anshul Kamboj has been included to the visiting team as a cover.

Former India opener Aakash Chopra, however, has expressed doubts about Kamboj's selection to the team, stating that "there is no clarity" whatsoever about the Indian team's management.

Prior to the start of the series against England, the team management had requested Harshit Rana to remain in England as a backup. Given his performance in the India A series against England Lions, a lot of people thought Anshul Kamboj was the best option at the moment.

Following the conclusion of the first Test, which England won by five wickets, Rana was then sent back. With injuries now revealed, Harshit Rana is not in the picture as the management has chosen to go with Anshul Kamboj.

Since Harshit Rana was chosen previously, Chopra believes that he should have been chosen now as well for continuity.

"It's fascinating." The topic of conversation centered around Anshul Kamboj. He also performed well for India A, but the team management picked Harshit Rana earlier when the chance arose. "We are now learning about Anshul's name again after he was sent back home," Chopra stated on his YouTube account.

"Harshit Rana is not here. You may now ask yourself, what really transpires? If you're talking about performances for India A, Anshul's was superior, but you maintained Harshit Rana looking at continuity," he said. How can you decide who to retain and who to let go?

'Absolutely no clarity'

The former India opening batsman also questioned Gautam Gambhir and the other support staff, asking if there was any "clarity" in the process of choosing the team's players.

“If that were the case, you ought to have maintained Harshit Rana as well. However, Anshul Kamboj is there instead of him. Chopra stated, "Absolutely no clarity at all."

“It might be that the administration knows, but nobody is telling us anything. There is no need to be shocked by this. Kamboj was deserving, and he is now with the crew," he continued.

England is now ahead 2-1 in the competition for the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy. With everything to play for, the two teams will now face off in the fourth Test.
