In the second Test against England, Team India's fast bowler Akash Deep wreaked havoc, taking a remarkable 10-wicket haul. In breaking England's Edgbaston fortress for the first time, the right-arm pacer was crucial for India. Akash dedicated his outstanding performance to his sister, who has been bravely fighting cancer for the last two months, and he spoke out about the emotional struggles he has been going through lately following the game.

At Edgbaston, he seamlessly took Jasprit Bumrah's place and scored a 10-fer that contributed to India's overwhelming victory. Akash's match numbers of 10 for 187 were not only crucial to the victory, but he also broke records by having the greatest Test bowling stats ever recorded by an Indian on English soil.

In an emotional statement made during a Jio Hotstar discussion with Cheteshwar Pujara, Akash dedicated his outstanding second Test performance to his sister, who has been battling cancer for the last two months.

Akash's sister, Akhand Jyoti, told him that he phoned her after the game and that she was filled with joy by his sincere act of dedicating the performance to her.

Akash has given me the greatest accomplishment of his life. I'm overjoyed and quite proud. The whole nation is very proud of him. Despite being the youngest of all his siblings, he still looks after me. Akhand Jyoti told Live Hindustan, "He (Akash Deep) used to come see me at the hospital every day when I was receiving therapy in a Lucknow hospital and he was here.

The right-arm pacer has taken 25 wickets in eight Tests for India and has won over several fans with his discipline and mastery of swing bowling in foreign pitches.

Laduma Devi, Akash's mother, remembered that her son had been obsessed with cricket since he was a child, but her husband, a teacher, frequently forbade him from playing. He persisted in following his passion, though, and is now a key member of India's pace attack. "May you keep taking 10 wickets like this," she said, expressing her pride and support.

Akash's brother-in-law, Nitesh Kumar Singh, recalled their close friendship, highlighting Akash's keen mind, unwavering commitment to cricket, and steady performances that ultimately earned him a spot on the Indian squad.

"Akash Deep used to tell me nearly everything; he is quite close to me. He was academically astute. He was passionate about cricket and committed to it. Wherever he performed, he did a great job. He was chosen for Team India because of his performance, according to Singh.
