Dulquer Salmaan’s much-anticipated period film Kaantha already created waves with its intriguing teaser that gave a glimpse into the plotline of the movie set in 50s backdrop. Samuthirakani plays a crucial role, while Bhagyashri Borse will be seen as the leading lady opposite Dulquer in this Tamil-Telugu bilingual directed by Selvamani Selvaraj. The film is being produced on a grand scale by Rana Daggubati, Dulquer Salmaan, Prashanth Potluri, and Jom Varghese under the banners of Spirit Media Pvt. Ltd. and Wayfarer Films Pvt. Ltd.

The makers have unveiled the film’s first track, Hey Pasi Manase, setting a tone of old-world romance.

Crafted by music director Jhanu Chanthar, the song is a loving tribute to the melodic sensibilities of the bygone era, complete with lush orchestration and analog warmth. Krishna Kanth’s lyrics beautifully trace the gentle arc of young love, while Pradeep Kumar and Priyanka NK lend their voices to a rendition that stirs both heart and memory.

The visuals mirror this retro musical theme, featuring intricately designed sets and costumes that transport the audience to an era of timeless cinema. Dulquer Salmaan and Bhagyashri Borse share an endearing bond, bringing a layer of authenticity and sweetness to this cinematic throwback.

Dani Sanchez Lopez handles the cinematography, and Tha. Ramalingam takes care of art direction. The additional screenplay was contributed by Thamizh Prabha, while editing is by Lewellyn Anthony Gonsalves.

Kaantha is scheduled to hit theatres on September 12th.
