Fans' disappointment with the movie Thug Life was compounded by the absence of the highly anticipated song Muththa Mazhai. It appears that the producers have addressed the viewers' concerns and released the song's video version. The song is performed in Tamil by Dhee and features Trisha.

At the time of Thug Life release, we had reported that the hit song Muththa Mazhai had gone missing, and audience were left dejected. The song had gained much popularity among fans, during the audio launch function when Chinmayee who had sung the Telugu and Hindi versions had performed onstage. Ever since then, fans had wanted to catch the song at the cinemas, but the final version of Thug Life did not have it.

On Saturday, the makers released the video glimpse of Muththa Mazhai song. Dhee has sung the song in Tamil version. The song along with the Thug Life album has been scored by AR Rahman. The video shows Trisha's character Indrani, who is musically inclined character, performing the song onstage, as she is surrounded by dancers. The video is picturised as a stage show, with the dancers performing classical dance.

Thug Life's post-theatrical streaming rights have been acquired by Netflix. Kamal Haasan, who stars in the film, had previously stated that there would be an eight-week hiatus between the theatrical premiere and the OTT release. The movie is directed by Mani Ratnam. However, since the movie did not perform well, it is now alleged that the streaming service is negotiating to shorten the length. An OTT release date has not yet been revealed,

Simbu, Trisha, Ashok Selvan, Nasser, Abhirami, Aishwarya Lekshmi, and others are part of the Thug Life ensemble. The story of the movie centers on an elderly criminal who takes a young boy in during a gunfight. However, after several years, the two are at odds.
