The similarities between Thodi Si Daaru and the Hindi theme of Shinchan were brought to the attention of internet users by an Instagram user who uploaded a video titled Mera Naam Bhi Shinchan Hai. "Bas 19-20 ka farak hai," one of the remarks said. "Same same but different," said another. "Shameful," said one user, lambasting the musician. "AP Chan" was the title of a humorous remark. "Definitely similar," a different user said. In reality, not even a famous vocalist like @shreyaghoshal can rescue a terrible song like that. "Every masterpiece has its own inexpensive copy," someone else observed.

However, AP Dhillon's supporters also defended him. "They are claiming that every other song is copied," one said. "I don't care, I love the vibes of the song," said one more. A third added, "Haters hate. "Art continues to exist." According to this, every 4x4 beat song is the same, from Blink-182's 'All the Small Things' to APT.

The song, which is a collaboration with renowned singer Shreya Ghoshal, features lyrics by Shinda Kahlon and music by AP Dhillon and Luca Mauti. The on-screen chemistry between Tara Sutaria and AP is a key topic of conversation throughout the video. Shortly after rumors of their real-life relationship started, and after they left a restaurant together, the music video was published.

Prior to this, Tara gained notoriety for her relationship with Ishaan Khatter in the song Pyaar Aata Hai, which was also performed by Shreya Ghoshal.
