The teaser for The Raja Saab, starring Prabhas and Sanjay Dutt, has finally arrived, and it’s a big disappointment. The film was supposed to be a supernatural horror thriller with a funny twist, but Sanjay Dutt’s villain feels more like a joke. Instead of being scary, he comes off as a cheesy mix of Hollywood-style bad guys, all clichés and no originality.

One confusing scene shows Sanjay playing the piano, a move rarely pulled off well in Indian movies. It looks more like a cheap ripoff of Davey Jones from Pirates of the Caribbean, slapped with a low-budget Indian look. It’s silly and does nothing to make you feel scared or interested.

Another look features flashy jewelry and wild costumes that bring to mind King Xerxes from 300, but much less impressive. The costume design seems lazy, with no real creativity or style. The visual effects only make things worse, looking old and poorly done. Audiences expect better visuals now, especially after Prabhas’s last film, Kalki 2898 AD, wowed everyone with its stunning effects.

The teaser of The Raja Saab didn’t go over well. Fans and critics both expressed their disappointment, saying the characters lack depth and the production feels cheap. If this is just a sneak peek, the team has a tough job ahead to convince viewers the rest of the movie will be better.

The film is directed and written by Maruthi, produced by People Media Factory and IVY Entertainment. It features Nidhhi Agerwal, Malavika Mohanan, and Riddhi Kumar. The music is by Thaman S, with cinematography by Karthik Palani and editing by Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao. The crew has talent, but it’s clear that talent isn’t showing up on screen.

Set to release on December 5, 2025, The Raja Saab risks becoming a missed opportunity. Star power and good tech are wasted on a story that feels tired and visuals that embarrass. Fans hope the final cut will be better, but this start doesn’t inspire much confidence.
