Wednesday Addams has returned! The second season of the blockbuster series starring Jenna Ortega as the title protagonist has been eagerly anticipated by fans. Netflix released the trailer for the show on Wednesday, revealing what awaits the girl as she enters a fantastically chaotic and bizarre mayhem.

The trailer gave a preview of the plot of this season. The audience can see Wednesday shedding black tears in one scene. "I know what those tears mean," Morticia (Catherine Zeta Jones), Wednesday's mother, says on Wednesday. "What did you see?" she asks. "Enid dies, and it's all my fault," she responds. The trailer then cuts quickly to the vision, where she is seen next to a cemetery, and the tombstone reads, "In memory of Enid Sinclair." Wednesday grabs Enid by the neck and screams, "I died because of you!"

Wednesday's return to Nevermore Academy, where she must deal with family, friends, and former foes, sets the stage for the trailer's remaining surprises and disclosures, launching her into another year of mystery, mayhem, and terrible secrets. Secrets are the foundation of the Addams family, says Wednesday. "The sooner I get answers, the sooner I can save Enid — or die trying."

"We really wanted to find some new obstacles for Wednesday. She thinks she has it all under control and discovers that human interaction isn't as easy as she thought," stated Miles Millar, co-creator, showrunner, and executive producer.

In response to the teaser, one supporter wrote, "It was such a genius move to release this on a Wednesday." "Love the fact that it's focusing on Enid and Wednesday's friendship," said another admirer. "Emma Myers is so phenomenal. Enid and Wednesday are the yin and yang of human emotions," wrote another fan. "I'll give this trailer credit for not revealing significant plot lines and instead simply teasing us with bits and pieces to keep us intrigued for the real series," one comment said. The second season will be released in two installments. The first four episodes will debut on August 6, with the remaining four airing on September 3, 2025.
