Before leaving movies as she entered her married life, Samvritha Sunil was a pleasant personality in Malayalam cinema throughout the 2000s and 2010s. Rasikan, her first film starring Dileep, came out in 2004. However, did you know that Samvritha had really auditioned for the part of Balamani in Nandanam, which starred Navya Nair? Well, the actress herself has revealed some fascinating details.

Balamani of Nandanam, played by Samvritha Sunil?

In 2002, the well-known Malayalam movie Nandanam was released. The movie's main character, Balamani, was played by Navya Nair, and she is still well known for it. But in a recent interview with Cue Studio, Samvritha Sunil revealed that she had really taken the screen test for Nandanam. However, she said that it didn't work out, but she didn't elaborate.

But this ultimately had a beneficial effect. When Ranjith, a well-known filmmaker, directed Chandrolsavam with Mohanlal in the lead, he did not cast Samvritha in the part of Balamani, but he did think about her. Ranjith also directed Nandanam. Despite the fact that it was a small role, Samvritha was cast as Malavika in the movie, where she was recognized.

"Rasikan wasn't much of a success." I probably wouldn't have made this many movies if I had believed I would only play heroines. As a result, I became known to the public due to the song (Muttathethum Thennale) immediately after Rasikan, when I received Chandrolsavam, even if it was a little role.

Navya Nair played Balamani in Nandanam, which also included Prithviraj Sukumaran. The movie follows Balamani, who is employed as a maid in Unniamma's family's ancestral home. Navya, like other actors, had taken a vacation from performing following her marriage, but she made her comeback to Malayalam film with the 2022 film Oruthee.
