Vir Das, one of India's most well-known international comedic talents, returns to Netflix with his most recent stand-up special, Vir Das: Fool Volume. His fifth special will debut on Netflix on July 18, 2025, making him the most prolific Indian comedian on the platform in terms of specials.

The pioneer in Indian stand-up comedy

With his distinctive combination of satire, social criticism, and personal anecdotes, Das has continuously pushed boundaries in stand-up comedy in India and throughout the globe. With Landing, his previous special, he was the first Indian comedian to ever take home the esteemed International Emmy® Award.

However, Fool The tale that inspired Volume is just one reason for its uniqueness; the humor it contains is another. In a statement, Das stated that Netflix and he were considering filming a special with a different topic, and he also described how the special came about. Furthermore, two months before the show, he said that the universe had other plans for him.

Quietly rewriting

"This is a program that has been rewritten in silence and presented live without rehearsal across the world," shared Das. As it turns out, the voice in your head is much more insane than the one in your throat. A unique that poses the crucial query: How much joy do you spread when it returns? What does it actually mean for any of us to utilize our voice?

Das' upcoming special, Fool Volume, will feature more of his signature intelligent humor, which oscillates between the ridiculous and the thoughtful. According to Netflix, Das will be "turning the volume all the way up" while skillfully navigating the world of global follies, using his signature combination of "wit, wisdom, and total nonsense."

This platform also advises, "In a world that takes itself too seriously, perhaps being the fool is the smartest move."

Abroad Understanding, a 2017 Netflix original, was Vir Das's debut mainstream production. The next specials he has released are Fool Volume, Landing, For India, and Losing It. His specials have helped him build a growing following throughout the world as one of the few Indian comedians that regularly has a global audience.

Netflix will host the world debut of Vir Das: Fool Volume on July 18.
