Ace OTT release: Arumuga Kumar's crime comedy Ace, featuring Vijay Sethupathi and Rukmini Vasanth, hit theatres on May 23 and was available on OTT in under a month. Vijay revealed the news on his X (formerly Twitter) as the movie silently started streaming on Prime Video on June 14.

Ace streams on Prime Video

On June 14, Vijay declared that his newest movie, Ace, was available for streaming on Prime Video. He gave the film a link when he said, "High stakes, Higher thrills! Watch #Ace streaming now on @Primevideoin!" According to the OTT platform, the movie is currently trending at number three in India, despite its low release. The movie's release has not yet been declared by Prime Video on their Instagram or X. Although certain movies are exceptions, Tamil films often have a lengthier digital release window.

Fans who watched the movie in theaters gave it a variety of reviews. Some people thought Ace was a stress reliever, while others thought the movie might have been improved. One commenter said, "Worst movie. Music acting story writing," while another said, "Loooove this movie." Absolutely a way to unwind. One supporter stated, "It hurts to see our heroes getting in to situations where they have to compromise themselves in order to keep entertain people amidst pressure." Another perspective is, "Nice move, Anna; the first half is humorous, the second half is interactive, and I like the excitement."

The movie also features Babloo Prithiveeraj and Divya Pillai. Ace watches Vijay perform Kannan, also known as Bolt, and Rukmini play his love interest, Rukku. Yogi Babu plays Arivukarasa, also known as Arivu. The movie follows a man who gets pulled into a shark circle while trying to start a new life overseas. The movie was written, directed, and produced by Arumuga. According to Sacnilk, the movie made less than ₹10 crore net in India during its theatrical release.
