Only a few days back, the makers of Chiyaan 62 unveiled the film's title to be Veera Dheera Sooran. In a fresh update, the team has begun shooting for the same on Thursday. Veera Dheera Sooran is helmed by filmmaker SU Arunkumar who last made the critically acclaimed film Chittha last year.

Veera Dheera Sooran goes on floors

Veera Dheera Sooran marks Vikram's first collaboration with the director. Besides Vikram, the film also features known faces like Dushara Vijayan, SJ Suryah, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Siddique and others. The upcoming film will mark Suraj’s debut in Tamil cinema.

Vikram’s manager communicated on X (formerly Twitter) that the film went on floors on Thursday. It is to be noted that Vikram's Veera Dheera Sooran will be a two-part saga and with the title unveiling, the makers confirmed the same. Interestingly, the second part will be released by the makers first, followed by part one.

Produced by Riya Shibu under the banner HR Pictures, the technical crew consists of music by GV Prakash Kumar, and camera is cranked by cinematographer Theni Eswar. The edits are handled by Prasanna GK, with CS Balachandar serving as the art director. A release date for Veera Dheera Sooran is yet to be announced.

Vikram’s Thangalaan in the pipeline

Vikram, who was last seen in the Ponniyin Selvan film franchise, will be next seen in the upcoming period action drama Thangalaan. Directed by Pa Ranjith, the film is set against the backdrop of Kolar Gold Fields. The film was initially scheduled to release in January this year but had been postponed. Thangalaan is yet to get an official release date, but in all likely will hit big screens by the year-end.

Thangalaan is backed by Jio Cinema, Studio Green and Neelam Productions. With music by GV Prakash Kumar once again for Vikram-starrer, the film also features Pasupathy, Parvathy Thiruvottu, Malavika Mohanan, and other known faces.
