Lionsgate has released the spooky trailer for The Strangers: Chapter 2, the next part of the horror series led by veteran director Renny Harlin. This film is set to hit theaters on September 26, 2025. It keeps the haunted killer story from Bryan Bertino’s 2008 hit alive, while adding new scares.

Madelaine Petsch from Riverdale, Gabriel Basso from The Night Agent, and Ema Horvath from The Rings of Power star in the movie. It’s not a true sequel or prequel but a fresh take. This version cranks up the fear, violence, and tension, taking the story into darker, more intense places.

In this new chapter, a couple played by Petsch and Froy Gutierrez become stranded in a creepy small town after their car breaks down. They find refuge in an abandoned cabin, but the night turns into a nightmare. Three masked strangers start hunting them, with no clear reason. The trailer hints at claustrophobic scares, quick chases, and a mood full of dread.

The script was written by Alan R. Cohen and Alan Freedland, based on a story by Bryan Bertino, who started it all. With Harlin directing and Lionsgate pushing the franchise, The Strangers: Chapter 2 looks set to deliver a brutal, stylish, and unforgiving horror flick. It taps into the worst fears—being watched, chased, and completely alone.
