With Duniya Vijay's Bheema, the Kannada film business saw a glimmer of hope just a year ago in August, and in the months that followed, Krishnam Pranaya Sakhi and a few other films were released. Despite the industry's terrible start to 2025, stakeholders are not prepared to give up hope and continue to hold onto their conviction that viewers have never abandoned quality content. This week, theaters have two new releases: Maadeva and Neethi. Sanju Weds Geetha 2 is also returning with fresh material. Tourist Family, a Tamil hit that is currently streaming with Kannada audio as well, is the OTT presentation. A few Kannada originals are anticipated in the next days, but there have been no formal announcements of them. As it happens, we will keep the audience informed here.

Sasikumar and Simran are the stars of Abishan Jeevinth's directorial debut, a narrative about a Tamil family from Sri Lanka who, in the wake of the economic collapse in their native country, "migrated" to India in search of a brighter future for their children. The movie was a hit in theaters and has now moved to OTT. It is also available via streaming with Kannada sound.

Maadeva

The plot of Vinnod Prabhakar's most recent movie is about the challenges and tibulations he encounters in his role as an executioner. Roberrt, who previously starred in Banaras, is partnered with The Fighter actor Sonal Monteiro. Vinnod claims that the movie is a departure from his typical action comedies and instead concentrates on him as an actor.

Neethi

In his debut, Rajagopal directs a captivating suspense thriller starring Kushee Ravi of Dia and Ayyana Mane, Sampath Maithreya, Praveen Atharva, and many other notable actors. The story of the movie centers on a woman who wants to commit suicide because she is trapped in an abusive relationship. She views finding a burglar in her own house as the ideal chance to carry out her scheme. However, things don't turn out as expected.

Sanju Weds Geetha 2

With Ragini Dwivedi in a key role, director Nagashekar is re-releasing his movie, Sanju Weds Geetha 2, which stars Srinagara Kitty and Rachita Ram. After only three days in theaters, the filmmaker pulled the movie from distribution in January of this year due to its overwhelmingly negative reviews. The issue, he had previously said, stemmed from the theatrical edit, which had cut around 20 to 25 minutes of material, the majority of it from Ragini's scenes. The film is now back in theaters thanks to Nagashekar, who put everything back together.
