The possibility of obtaining post-theatrical rights for many Kannada movies is still a long way off. The trend continues in 2025, with just roughly one-fifth or less of the total number of films in theaters reaching television or OTT in the previous several years. Sun NXT and Amazon Prime Video have acquired the majority of the movies currently available for streaming, but Z5 has only acquired one. The industry rumor is that JioHotstar has started purchasing Kannada films, but it will take some time for these films to be released on the platform because the merger between JioCinema and Hotstar is still being worked out.

In the meantime, here is a look at the Kannada films that are expected to drop on OTT in July 2025

Rudhra Garuda Purana

The Rudhra Garuda Purana, in which Rishi portrayed a police officer looking into the disappearance of a local MLA's kid, has a streamer in place, but there is no news on when it will start streaming. This year, in January, the movie was released in theaters, and it is anticipated that it will soon be available.

Gajarama

Rajvardhan portrayed an aspiring wrestler in the action drama he starred in. Sunil Kumar VA directed Gajarama, which paired Rajvardhan with Tapaswini, and Ragini Dwivedi appeared in a special song. The movie, which was released in theaters on February 7, is currently negotiating an OTT streaming agreement.

The Sky is Bhuvanam

This travel-based relationship drama, directed by Girish Moolimani, starred Pramod and Pruthvi Ambaar. One of the Valentine's Day releases, the movie also features Rachel David (of Love Mocktail 2 fame), Ponnu Ashwathi, Achyuth Kumar, and Sharath Lohithashwa.

Kapati

Debutant Ravikiran D and Chethan SP’s suspense thriller, produced by filmmaker Dayal Padmanabhan has Sukrutha Wagle and Dev Devaiah in the lead. The film explores the dangers of the dark web.

Suthradhari

Rapper Chandan Shetty’s debut as a leading man, Suthradhari was an investigative thriller in which the musician played a cop on the trail of a serial murderer. The film paired Chandan with Sanjana Anand, with Tabla Nani, Apurva and Navarasan in pivotal roles.
