Thug Life box office collection day 2: The highly publicized reunion of Mani Ratnam and Kamal Haasan after 37 years has not exactly gone as planned for the two legends. Their most recent movie, Thug Life, has received mixed reviews and hasn't done very well in theaters. The movie experienced a significant decrease on Friday, the second day of its release. The Box Office Revenue for Thug Life
Sacnilk reports that on Friday, Thug Life made ₹7.50 crores across all languages, a significant 55% decline from its opening day sales of ₹15.50 crores. This brings the total for India over two days to ₹23 crore. It's fascinating that Akshay Kumar's comedy Housefull 5, which was released on Friday, made that much money on its first day alone. The publication of Housefull 5 also hurt Thug Life's operations in the Hindi-speaking areas. Thug Life was billed as an all-India movie, and it was heavily promoted in the north as well. But its Hindi division started with a meager ₹65 lakh. The figure for day 2 is expected by industry insiders to be in the region of ₹25–30 lakh. Considering Kamal Haasan's status as a star, this suggests that Thug Life may have difficulty achieving even a net of ₹5 crore in Hindi over the course of its existence, which is quite a pitiful amount.
However, the Tamil version of Thug Life is not performing very well either. With a two-day total of ₹23 crore, it's nowhere close to Kamal Haasan's most recent box office success, Vikram. When it was released in 2022, the Lokesh Kanagaraj film had made a net profit of ₹60 crore in its first two days. The box office flop that was released last year, Indian 2, had done better, earning ₹44 crore in its first two days at the ticket window. It's evident that Thug Life needs to catch up if it wants to remain afloat. Following Kamal Haasan's contentious remarks on the Kannada language, Thug Life has especially been hit by a lack of release in Karnataka.
