The Paper, Peacock's upcoming office comedy, has had its premiere date officially revealed by the network; it will begin on September 4, 2025, with its first four episodes. The series will be available on JioHotstar (OTTplay Premium) for Indian viewers on September 5, 2025.

The Office's inventors

Greg Daniels of The Office and Michael Koman of Nathan for You are the producers of The Paper. The series belongs to the Universal Television division of the Universal Studio Group. Deedle-Dee Productions, which Daniels founded, is producing the show under his name.

Four episodes will be available on the first day of the first season. In India, two new episodes will be released every Friday from that point until the season finale on September 26, 2025.

A cast full of celebrities

The ensemble cast of "Domhnall Gleeson," which also features Sabrina Impacciatore (The White Lotus), Sabrina Frei, Melvin Gregg, Gbemisola Ikumelo, Alex Edelman, Ramona Young, Tim Key, and Oscar Nuñez, best known for his roles in "Ex Machina" and the "Harry Potter" series, is part of the ensemble cast.

The guest performers include Eric Rahill, Duane Shepard Sr., Allan Havey, Mo Welch, Molly Ephraim, Nancy Lenehan, and Nate Jackson.

The executive producers include Howard Klein, Ben Silverman, Banijay Americas, Daniels and Koman, Stephen Merchant (co-creator of The Office UK), and Ricky Gervais.

Lineup of renowned directors

A number of well-known figures from comedy television have shared the directing responsibilities. These include, among others, Jeff Blitz, Dave Rogers, Matt Sohn, Jennifer Celotta, Jason Woliner, Tazbah Chavez, Paul Lieberstein, Yana Gorskaya, and Ken Kwapis (The Office, Parks and Recreation).

The Truth Teller, a historic but struggling Midwestern newspaper in Toledo, Ohio, is attempting to reinvent itself with the assistance of volunteer reporters and is a successor to The Office in The Paper. Comparisons to two series that have had a strong following and cultural impact, The Office and Parks and Recreation, are already being made due to the show's talented creative team and enormous cast.

The Paper, which is set to debut in India on JioHotstar, is now one of the most discussed comedy premieres of 2025 on Peacock and represents another significant crossover in the streaming sector.
