Much anticipations are on Jana Nayagan, the upcoming Tamil film starring Vijay. And as fans waited with bated breath, the one last time of a Vijay film update has dropped. The makers of Jana Nayagan released the ‘First Roar’ on social media as the clock struck 12 am, celebrating Vijay’s 51stbirthday on Sunday, in style, mass and class.

Jana Nayagan ‘First Roar’ out

Actor Vijay needs no introduction. He, who is on the peak of his acting career, had announced last year that he will be quitting films to concentrate on full-time politics. With that, his farewell film will be Jana Nayagan directed by H Vinoth.

To commemorate Vijay's 51st birthday, the film's producers unveiled the "First Roar" at midnight on Sunday. In the opening of the video, 'The First Roar,' Vijay's most often stated line from his speeches, "En nenjil kudi irukum," is shown on the screen along with the statement "A true leader rises not for power, but for the people." As he is introduced, he is dressed as a police officer and walking with a sword in his hand in front of a burning location. His police officer is reminiscent of Mersal, and he also resembles Nandamuri Balakrishna from Bhagavanth Kesari. The movie's posters, which were released earlier, also portrayed Vijay as a popular figure, further establishing his political persona.

The plot of the movie has not been revealed in great detail, but reports point to it being a remake of the Telugu film Bhagavanth Kesari. The rumors have neither been refuted nor verified by the producers.

What do we know about Jana Nayagan so far?

In addition to Vijay, the film features other well-known faces and actors from throughout India, such as Pooja Hegde, Bobby Deol, Mamitha Baiju, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Priyamani, and more. It's the second time Vijay and Pooja Hegde have worked together, following the 2022 movie Beast, and the first time Vinoth has collaborated with the actor.

KVN Productions produced Jana Nayagan, with music composed by Anirudh Ravichander, who has previously worked on Vijay's Beast, Leo, and Master. Following its postponement from October of this year, the movie is currently scheduled for a theatrical debut on January 9, 2026. Prime Video has secured the rights to stream the film after it has been shown in theaters. Vijay will have an extra benefit from the new release date, which is closer to the 2026 elections, as he prepares to run.
