Suresh Gopi's investigation thriller, Commissioner, is all set to hit the big screens again. It has been reported that the film will have a theatrical re-release during Onam 2025. Hy Studioz is reportedly working on a 4K restoration of the movie after their recent works, Devadoothan and Chotta Mumbai. A Suresh Gopi film is being re-released for the first time.

Following the movie's commercial success in 1994, Suresh Gopi gained notoriety in Malayalam film. The film, directed by Shaji Kailas, features an ensemble cast that includes Shobana, Ratheesh, Vijayaraghavan, M. G. Soman, K. B. Ganesh Kumar, Rajan P. Dev, N. F. Varghese, Bheeman Raghu, and Maniyanpilla Raju.

Bharathchandran, an honest police commissioner who exposes Delhi-based business tycoon Mohan Thomas, who wields significant political clout and has a manic agenda, is the subject of the investigative thriller. Renji Panicker wrote the screenplay for this action drama, which had a 2005 sequel titled Bharath Chandran I.P.S. It has given Suresh Gopi a legendary role that his fans and action drama enthusiasts still adore.

The actor has a courtroom drama titled Janaki v/s State of Kerala lined up for theatrical release. Following its denial of accreditation by the Central Board of Film Certification, the film is currently at the heart of a heated controversy. Because "Janaki" makes reference to a Hindu god, the CBFC has denied the film's release. The name's usage in the title and throughout the film has been criticised by this board. The producers have confirmed that they do not intend to change the circumstances or file a lawsuit in reaction to the CBFC's move.

Under the direction of debutante Mathews Thomas, Suresh Gopi is presently filming for Ottakomban. In this action movie, he will play the starring role of Kaduvakunnel Kuruvachan, a fiery figure from Pala. It is among Malayalam's highly anticipated films in 2025.
