The conclusion of the well-known Korean series starring Lee Jung-jae and Lee Byung-hun in the main roles is still generating conversation as Squid Game season 3 continues to dominate. But as the series went on, the ending was somewhat altered, according to director Hwang Dong-hyuk. The original conclusion was quite different from what was presented.

In Squid Game 3, Hwang Dong-hyuk confirms that the conclusion was different

"I had a different ending in mind when I just had a vague notion of what I wanted to do in Seasons 2 and 3," Hwang told Variety. However, as I was developing the characters and Gi-story hun's narrative, I came to the conclusion that this shouldn't be how it all ends. The conclusion was now more emotionally realistic and beneficial for his persona.

The infant was not meant to be rescued by Gi-hun

The original conclusion of Squid Game 3 was that Gi-hun, also known as Player 456, shouldn't have saved the infant. As anticipated, if the program had ended that way, he would have lived through the game twice. Nevertheless, the filmmaker believed that the conclusion that is now a part of the program made more sense, and as a result, this was chosen as the conclusion to Gi-story hun's in Squid Game season 3. "It was a very drastic change from my first idea to what ended up being the final story," the creator said.

The third scenario of Squid Game, which revolutionized the game

The Frontman's proposition in Squid Game 3 that Gi-hun murder every player in order to protect himself and Player 222's child was one of the game's major high points. The Frontman had murdered every player himself in the past, and he had anticipated Gi-hun would do the same. Gi-hun placed a knife against another player's neck while contemplating it, and he suddenly had a vision of Sae-byeok (played by Jung Ho-yeon), his ally from Season 1. "You're not that kind of person," she said. Gi-hun was brought back to his senses by these statements, and as a result, he acted nothing like the Frontman.
