The high-stakes survival game will be back in September. Netflix has announced that on September 25, 2025, the third season of Alice in Borderland will have its global premiere. The Japanese science fiction thriller, which is based on Haro Aso's manga, stars Tao Tsuchiya and Kento Yamazaki as Usagi and Arisu, respectively. Shinsuke Sato returns to direct the upcoming season.

Usagi and Arisu's tranquil existence is interrupted.

At the conclusion of season 2, Arisu and Usagi came back to reality after completing all the card games in the Borderland. They now have dreams and thoughts about their past in the mysterious world as they live in peace after getting married. Usagi vanishes from view at the start of the new season. Despite his best attempts, Arisu is drawn back into the dangerous world he believed he had escaped.

The plot becomes more complicated when Banda, a character from earlier games, confronts Arisu and informs him that Usagi has returned to the Borderland. Arisu encounters more dangerous challenges, like lethal fire arrows and electric strikes, as soon as she chooses to follow her. As he attempts to reach Usagi, the final and most enigmatic game, represented by the Joker card, is approaching.

Members of the cast who are fresh or coming back

The ensemble also features Risa Sudou, Koji Ohkura, Hiroyuki Ikeuchi, Tina Tamashiro, Kotaro Daigo, Hyunri, Sakura Kiryu, and Daigo, with Kento Kaku in the role of Ryuji, a mysterious scholar who is obsessed with the afterlife. Ayaka Miyoshi, Katsuya Maiguma, and Hayato Isomura are among the returning performers. The characters will go through psychological and moral trials as the drama progresses, exploring the boundary between life and death.

The teaser poster that was just released captures the emotional essence of the season and raises the stakes by showing Usagi and Arisu kissing. The teaser, on the other hand, hints at impending fresh dangers. We see characters like Tetsu and Rei in moments of mayhem and conflict in order to increase the tension. Seeing the new member Kazuya boldly aim a weapon makes one wonder whether there is treachery or conflict in the gang.

The creative team returns

The third season of Alice in Borderland is being produced by Netflix in partnership with ROBOT and THE SEVEN. The screenplay was written by Yasuko Kuramitsu and Shinsuke Sato. The score was composed by Yutaka Yamada, the action was directed by Yuji Shimomura, and the visual effects were supervised by Atsushi Doi.

Now that the Joker card is the only one remaining, fans can look forward to a season chock-full of emotional complexity, thrilling action, and fresh mental tricks. Starting on September 25, viewers may watch the third season on Netflix.
